Parallel - Augmented Reality Mural
This project was unique to say the least. Muralist Nick Napoletano asked if I would partner with him in developing a technique to make a real-time, interactive, augmented reality mural. Parallel was the result.

I used photogrammetry, digital sculpting, and some voxel combinations in houdini to create the base render. Nick then painted it as a 20ft x 20ft, photoreal wall mural on panels, allowing the piece to be rebuilt on location.
TouchDesigner was the perfect tool to handle the real-time visuals. Allowing me to bring in user input through motion sensors, custom mobile interfaces or a wired midi controller to drive everything from moving lights, reskinning the surface, particle effects and even submerge the faces in water.
